Try a map deck before you buy

A preview image cannot tell you whether the file ungroups the way you expect, whether the shapes are named, or whether the labels survive projection. One sample deck answers all three in about a minute.

Five decks, one per catalog

Each sample is a real template — one product out of that market's catalog, in one theme, with all eight slides. Open it in PowerPoint, ungroup the map, click a county, and see whether the file behaves the way you need before spending anything.

What is in a sample deck

  1. A cover with the map as the visual.
  2. An editing guide — ungroup, select by name, recolor — on the slide, so the instructions travel with the file.
  3. A labeled reference map, every area named, for checking spelling and coverage.
  4. A data slide listing every area with its national code, ready to paste values beside.
  5. A spotlight slide: one area highlighted against a muted rest of the map.
  6. A source slide naming the boundary publisher, the dataset and its date, which is what an attribution license requires.
  7. Variants of the map for a different treatment.

Testing it in sixty seconds

  1. Open the file and click the map once. The whole map selects, because it is one group.
  2. Right-click → Group → Ungroup.
  3. Home → Select → Selection Pane. The list should be full of place names, not Freeform 1284.
  4. Click a name, set a fill, and watch that area change on the slide behind the pane.
  5. Print preview: the map is vector, so the edges stay sharp at any paper size.
If step three lists unnamed shapes, the file is not the one described here. Every template sold on this site carries the area name on every shape, because the Selection Pane is the only way to work with a map of thousands of areas.

What the sample is not

It is one product, not the catalog. A purchased file is the same eight slides for the geography you chose, in all three themes, with the same license and the same refund window. The sample is for checking behavior; the catalog is for the map you actually need.

Questions

Do I have to give an email address to download a sample?
No. The five sample files are plain links: no form, no email, no account and no card. They are the same files a buyer receives, with one product from each catalog rather than the whole catalog.
What is in a sample deck?
Eight slides: a cover, an editing guide, a labeled reference map, a data slide with the code list, a spotlight slide, a source slide naming the boundary publisher, and variants. Each theme is a separate .pptx, and a sample is one of them.
Can I use the sample in a presentation?
Yes, under the same license as a purchased file: any number of presentations, commercial or internal, with no resale of the file. The terms are on the license page.
Why is the sample only one map?
Because a sample is for testing behavior, not for assembling a deck out of free parts. One product shows how the shapes ungroup, how the names read in the Selection Pane, and what the print quality is.
